So if we had a rocky relationship and he says now he wants to try and invite me everywhere he goes , do you think he will feel better if I always go?

Will it make him happy? Probably, you have to be honest about how you fell though.

That seems extreme. Why not hear the invitation and let him know if you are busy or would be able to join him?
