Did you really think about this question before you asked it? I mean you're literally asking us this,

"Why do people try to make better life decisions, after they have learned from making bad life decisions?"

Think about that... because young people are more willing to follow their heart despite all rational thought and reason. Because when people are young they really are more likely to believe they are really all that and more... but after they get humbled by life they rethink everything and see the errors of their ways.

As a young man I pulled some really sexy women that I thought were like 10's on the sex scale... and physically they probably were. But in the end they ended up being some pretty terrible women, and even though they were physically attractive they ended up not being any better than a 5 or 6 at best. But when I was young I was so full of myself I thought I could over come all the warning signs, because I was hot shit... well I wasn't or maybe I was and they just weren't who I hoped they would be. These day I still date 10's, but I date real legit 10's maybe they are only 6's or 7's on the physical scale, but they are quality women that are grounded and legit. They know how to treat a good man, and make you feel special and you make them feel special and they really appreciate you for all the things you do for them... because they know the other way it works and they are done with it just as much as I am.

That's the difference between knowledge and wisdom... you can accumulate knowledge so many different ways, from reading to doing or thinking... but wisdom is only achieve when knowledge is pair with real life experience. What is the definition of insanity, you keep doing the same things expecting a different result? I mean if you keep trying a failing then doing the same thing over and over, then you need to change what you are doing if you want a different result.

So when we see an attractive person we all have the knowledge we need to know to know they are attractive... but a wise person will look deeper because life experience has taught them better.

Many young men are worse than mature men (same goes for women). Men will often mature, so her options are way better when she's 25 than when she's 18 because 25 year old men are more mature than 18 year old men. Maybe there are other reasons too, but I think this plays a role in it

They do not have a change of mind and they have not necessarily learned. What often happens is the guys they want will never commit and as they get older, they need someone to settle down with so they go for the only men that will commit... the nice guy.
