Should a 26 year old guy date an 18 year old girl who just graduated high school?

It depends on the two people, but I don't think mere age is a problem.

Most 18 year old girls are all grown up. The only thing they lack is income and independence.

A 26 year old guy has had time to go to college and/or get a career or at least a decent job. He has also had time to mature mentally and hopefully has enough life experience to have matured emotionally.

I was in a situation were I was 26 and worked with a girl who was 16. 3 years later, we still worked together and she started to flirt with me after getting out of a long relationship.

Now, nobody would care if a 29-year old dated a 19-year old, but I turned it down because I had known her when she was a minor and it felt dirty.

You only have an 8 year gap, which is find. The older both of you get, the less weird it will be until one day it isn't weird at all. I would say don't pass up a good opportunity if you really like her, but understand that you will be judged a little for a year or two.

I think if he likes her and will take care of her and vice versa there's no issue.
However, if it's a predator thing then yes it's an issue.
