My boyfriend treated me like trash 2-3 months prior breaking up. I begged him like anything but he was cold and rigid and highly ignorant. Yesterday night at 3 he all of a sudden mailed me "sorry for everything".

I’ll tell you what this means but you’re not going to like it: his other option didn’t work out, and now he’s willing to settle for what wasn’t good enough when he thought he had a chance elsewhere. I would recommend cutting off all contact with him after explaining that you will not be an option when he can’t do any better.
