How am I gonna explain this?

I just turned 18 yesterday and we have a family friend that i have a crush on who’s 29... Literally he’s so hot and funny. Yesterday when he came for my birthday i confessed my feelings for him. He told me that he wants me too but we can't because it’d be too weird because of the age gap and he’d feel bad. Then i kissed him and he didn't stop me he kissed me back. But he told me that its all and we can't do anything without telling my family. What am i gonna do?

You're going to respect him and if he does no more advances on you you'll move on. It might be legal now, but that doesn't mean that people won't judge and he is logical enough to understand that just because he might want you, it makes no sense to go through that and you're still too young. If in a couple of years, maybe when you're 23/24 none of you have found someone permanent, I'm sure he'll try. It's just a bit weird rn

Talk with him ok, just tell him that he knows how you feel and that you'll respect him and stay just friends for now. But that he has to be aware you won't wait years for him (even if you would) to make up his mind
