I’ve been single for a while now and I think I’m ready to start dating again. I don’t really like online dating though, I’ll do it but I’m not like a super fan.
I usually tend to date foreign guys that I meet while I’m on vacation or that I meet when around and about. Usually those are just casual though, drinks and a movie type of thing. I think I’m ready for something serious.
How do you guys put yourselves out on the dating stream?
Honestly I go to places were I believe women are most likely available to me. So that's on line because I have a profile and she has a profile we are basically advertising our level of availability.
Lots of people don't like on line dating including myself, but honestly it is were the action is at. So it takes a lot of work and trail and error. Even though I hate it and I wish I could meet women in the more traditionally way it hasn't worked out that way and I have a lot of success on line.
Sounds to me that your attraction to foreign guys while your on vacation or traveling is more about a possible insecurity over commitment or making yourself emotionally vulnerable. I for one only show interest in a women who is willing to make herself available and commit to the process. So you have to do some self reflection on yourself and be honest if your are really doing that... because if your turned off by the whole process then you might be turning off or turning a way a lot of really good guys. So it really comes down to the types of people you are connecting with and if those are really the right types of people you are looking for or want.
I mean it is fun to go out into the world and have some unabashed sex without any strings attached and the fact they are in a foreign country means its less threatening and gives you more control over the relationship... meaning no real commitment or need to make yourself emotionally vulnerable.
In the old days you lived where you lived and the dating pool of the local population was relatively limited... so single men and women were more approachable and inviting. So if there was single guy at work or someone at the market or coffee shop they automatically became more noticeable and possibly desirable to you. Now days that's the not the case and people present themselves as being less approachable because they can go home and find people all a cross the world.
So either you start talking to more and more men in your day to day life and showing an interest or go on line. But at the end of the day no matter how you go about it you got to put yourself out there as being available and willing to commit to a relationship.
Seriously if your just looking for guys to hook up with you don't have to go to a foreign country.
First prove to yourself that you have something a guy will take seriously. Sex isn't it. Looking good isn't it. Then have high standards for yourself & for the guys you spend time with. May god have mercy on me if I ever have to find out, and I’m not even religious. I can see the appeal of foreigners, there are very few Americans worth either gender’s time or effort or emotional attachment and the competition is intense.
In this case, I would recommend trying to be more open-minded about potential partners or relocating to a place where there is a large concentration of the type of people you prefer to date. Those are really the only choices you have.
Nevermind foreign guys unless they are permanent residents where you live. You are just going to get pumped and dumped when you or them go back home
You should probably give foreign dating sites a try. That's what my dad did.
I hear there a lot of Russian guys around your age who are looking to leave that country...
Move to California and the Asians and Mexicans will fulfill your needs...
Join a club or coed sports team.
