An ex can't say he does not love, he cares about me , still attracted to me but say he is not worthy of my love. Why? Does he still love me?

Yes I am open to it but he said that now he is not reading to be in relationship, he is emotionally unstable and his life is a mess, he choose to be alone for a year or two to put his life together and to be a better version of himself... but he still want to see me , talk with me, he lets me to support him, be his friend.
