I feel guilty for this?

I wasn't into this guy but I still agreed to go out with him just to learn if there's potential. We're both in our late 20s. Soon in our convo, I realised he was being alittle too pushy and would kinda expect me to listen to him when I make decisions about my career. I told him upfront that it's fine for him to suggest things, but at the end of the day it is my choice and I don't like being told what to do. He got mad at this, but still spoke to me the next day.

If I don't reply back and I'm super tired, he'd constantly ask me to tell him what's wrong. I just wanted some space and I couldn't ask for it without upsetting him.

I decided to tell him that I'm not too sure of where this is going, and he ends up calling me immature and says I should have known before agreeing to talk to him in the first place. Is it really that wrong to date someone before knowing whether or not u like them just to see if there's potential?
