nerd here means a person who has hobby of playing video games and watching anime or kdrama, or it can mean girls who are still into Disney, weebs reading webtoon all days and jamming with k-pop songs... it's got nothing to do with being topper of the class or introversion, i am just asking this as i fall in ALL of the above and i wanna see how many people judge their partners based on hobbies alone
+1 yI honestly don't care what they have as a hobby. I'll respect their likings no matter what and I may even do the things with them. I'm always good with trying something new. I'm not a big video game player but I won't let that stop me from sitting for an hour or two and learning the game. And I don't read much, but if that's what you like to do then I'll read along with you or listen.
In other words, yes, I would date a nerd10 Reply

As a fellow nerd myself who spends almost all of his free time either playing games, reading books or watching anime, I'd say dating a nerd would mean hitting the jackpot for me.
Having a partner you have so much in common with, have like-minded interests and opinions as well as hobbies is way wayy better than dating someone who's stereotypically considered hot and attractive but with whom you also have nothing in common.20 Reply

But those things are common interests nowadays and it doesn't make a person stand out, really.
Back in my day, a nerd was studious, dedicated to learning, and socially awkward but the kind of person you wanted to chummy up with so you could copy their answers on tests, or get them to take all the notes down in class. Nerds are useful, lol.
The sexiest man I know calls himself a nerd. He's smart af. And good looking. And those things together, along with his humility, are very, very, attractive. I think he thinks I'm a nerd too. Because we both love sharing things we've learned with each other.
So the definition of 'nerd' is quite malleable, and not everyone agrees exactly what it is.

+1 yJust a quick credential check first: did Light outsmart him self or did he want to get caught in Deathnote? What was your strategy in Magic: The Gathering? Kirk or Picard? Is Star Wars really a space opera about daddy issues? Is Fallout 3 or 4 better? We’re not going to talk about 76…

+1 yI did haha but not a Nerd who lived in the basement of their parents, doing nothing all day... but a Nerd who is a functional adult with hobbies
Plus If we start talking about like game of thrones... I also become a nerd myself haha so I will say we all have a nerd in us20 Reply - 1.1K opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yI gotta know more than the stuff they geek over, which is the word you’re looking for by the way. I’m a geek, and a nerd.
You know who’s boring? People without interests and people with only casual interests. LAME! If you’re not a little nutz about something, you’re not the one for me. I will doubt that you can be passionate and committed to anything, including myself. And that’s what i want, need and deserve.10 Reply Well I am a nerd too. I definitely would date someone who does those things. I wish I knew a girl who did those things. Far as I’m concerned, do what you love. So long as you are also a self sufficient, functioning adult, you are good.
Coincidentally, can I get your snap? 😂10 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Dating topic. I married a nerd. My wife was into Disney, watched k-drama, and was (inexplicably) into k-pop... when she wasn't playing Brahams or Chopin.

+1 yYes as Im more concerned with someone's character than what activities they like.
10 Reply Honestly, that would not work for me at all. I might be able to do it for a little while, but we would have to break up in short order. I'm not even slightly nerdy, so there just wouldn't be any overlap between she and I.
