I found out through a close, trusted friend that my girlfriend of a year keeps referring to me as " her bitch". That even before we started dating and were just talking, she was apparently bragging to her friends and to my friends that she's going to "make me her bitch" and was showing them my messages to her. Why would she say about a guy she wants to date "I'm going to make him my bitch"? What does that mean?

It means she is a toxic person that wants to control you. This is someone that I would stay away from. She obviously has zero respect for you and thinks that she is going to turn you into her personal slave.

This sort of behaviour is again toxic and you have to wonder what other toxic personality traits she has. I would consider this a major red flag and move on if I were you.

Why would you let someone talk about you, to you or treat you like that? You are 25-29 years old and don't know this by now? Especially her saying it before you even started dating or got to know each other.

Again, I would run from this one. I doubt very much this is the only negative personality trait she has and it is only a matter of time before the rest begin to show. Move on and find a girl that has more respect and wants to date you and be equal partners in the relationship.

It could be a red flag. But I'd go more off her actions. Some women just like to talk like they're in complete control. And if in reality she's showing you the respect due then what does it matter.
