What could be the reason?

There's this guy I've been talking to on a dating app for few days and he said about meeting up and I said won't be for a few weeks unfortunately because I've got work and events coming up he said it was fine and he wouldn't mind waiting he seemed proper interested yesterday asking me how im doing and what I'm upto and now not replying for hours which I don't mind but before he'd reply quickly and ask me questions now its one word answers when I try to engage should I ask him or just move on?

I don’t think he’s the right guy. Playing devils advocate I could rationalize this gradual ghosting, like maybe he’s disappointed about having to wait weeks to see you or maybe he’s worried you’re a catfish or something and doesn’t want to invest more time. Regardless of the reason, you guys are new to eachother and his insecurities and/or trust issues aren’t your problem. What I think is the real catalyst here is that he isn’t looking for anything serious. Waiting a few weeks is not the biggest ask and it gives time to get to know each other, but for a dude who only wants something quick then he will either ghost completely or gradually. Anyway, since you guys are so new, there’s still opportunity to cut him off without any sense of loss on your end. Don’t chase by engaging his half ass efforts to chat and slowly respond, and find someone more responsive and who wants the same things as you.

Yeah that's a good point actually as there's a lot of that going about I'm tempted to just ask if he still wants to meet but I don't want to come across as I'm putting pressure on or overbearing.

Maybe this dude has avoidant attachment issues he does seem pretty reserved and I remember him saying we live so far away from eachother and kept mentioning it whereas I don't mind travelling if I know its genuine

Relationship is not in the digital world. The digital world, at best, is an avenue to begin a relationship. Relationship requires immediate presence especially in its beginnings and it should possess some sort of ease. I think you are more fantastic than most and Less Practical than necessary 🙃

He was in until at the point of closing Deal you said “No”. It’s not that he did not mean it. You did not know how to Risk. He shall Risk no longer…he brought the contract and negotiation to the Table. You failed to sign, therefore practically, you are fantastic with no hope of understanding means and methods to REALationship…. A willing guy 💪 with an expertly trained intuitiveness.
