I don't have a current one but the last one I had I met at a gig I ended up playing.

My guitarist's girlfriend, the daughter of the bass player for Tommy James & The Shondells, kept badgering me to play drums one night for some friends of hers from New Orleans, a band called, Enoch Light Presents, an improvisational jazz rock band who don't have a drummer, they just picked one up for the night anywhere they played. I kept telling her I don't want to play the gig (mostly because I like to hear what I'm playing to before I play anything to it. I already WAS in a band of that sort (Complex Variables) for a month or two but at least we had a basic idea of what each song was gonna sound like. Mike could say, "Let's play, "Vectors" and we knew what we were gonna play but, we could still do a lot of improvising, as long as there was a basic structure.) but, she kept after me. Finally, a few nights before the show, I relented and did the gig!. There were no mics on my drums and I was even playing lightly and using brushes towards the end and they were STILL complaining that I was too loud!!

After we finished our set, I went to the front of the room (the back of the audience area) and sat at a table where the singer was selling these huge hats that she made and would sell at each show. Picture a real life Cat In The Hat hat about 2 feet high that looked about twice as wide as your head but would actually fit.

A local band was going to play after us. I have no idea who they were, anymore, I just remember I kinda hated them and wasn't paying any attention to them. I had to wait `til the end of the night when the bands got paid before I could leave because Enoch Light was my ride back to where I kept my drums. As I'm sitting there waiting to get the hell out of there, the room fills up with people coming to see this other band, I think we had maybe a dozen people, if that. Suddenly, there were these two girls standing directly in front of me. One a sexy-looking blonde with pig tails and the other was also very pretty and had very long black hair, a very dark tan and mouthful of huge white teeth, made even brighter under the blacklights in the room! She spotted me sitting behind where she was standing and apologized to me for blocking my view. I wasn't watching them so, I was very casual about her standing there and told her not to worry about it. This interested her. After a few minutes, she and her friend sat at the table with me and we started talking. She DID mention something about having a husband so, I never got any ideas of trying to win her over. A few weeks later, I found out that one of the other reasons she started talking to me was that her blonde friend was a lezzie that kept trying to get into her pants and she was trying to avoid that.

Around midnight, my ride was leaving so, we said goodbye figuring we'd never see each other again. A week or two later, I went downtown to put in an application for a job at a drug store. Just as I went in, some girl standing outside the door said, "It's you! Hi!" She was waiting for a bus so, seeing as how some girl seemed to know me and wanted to talk to me, I was hoping my trip into the store wouldn't take long. Thankfully, it didn't! It only took a few seconds. (I never got the job.) I rushed back out to see who she was figuring that she'd be gone by the time I got out there but, she WAS still there! We started talking and she reminded me where we saw each other before and the subject of music came up and we stood there for at least an hour talking about music. She was VERY interested in what I was telling her and wanted to talk a lot longer so, as we were both hungry, she invited me to her place where we could get a pizza and she could make notes of all the music I suggested she might like to listen to so, we finally caught one of the buses she'd been waiting for to her place. She's from India so, she didn't know much about American music. After 2 or 3 more nights of this over the next week or so, she finally told me that her hubby got a sex change and that she only considered him her hubby to "protect herself" from other guys that might be interested in her that she might not be interested in. Then, we started getting involved romantically!
I'd seen two other girls before her but was slightly romantically involved with 2 others for a few hours, @. We were both 35 when we met but she was 7 months older than me.

Not fictionalizing it. I AM considering writing a book of my life, thank you. I've had others tell me I should and that it'd be a great movie, if anyone ever decided to make one.

Oh, yeah, LOTS of stories! 25 years with my band gave me lots of stories, my school years, my younger days, my college years, then there's the movie I started to write, the books I've helped write, the two or three I'm going to write on my own. I wish I still had all of the songs I wrote!!
