There are hardly any dates.. flowers.. that I beg for.

All he does is and I'm grateful for are:
Attentiveness with psychical and emotional wellbeing.. and he pays for most of the Bill's
We just dont go on many dates.

He asks me to always go fishing.
I told him that's old, so he will say bowling we went once.

I feel he doesn't put any thought into me or effort.

Like I do for him always.

I always take us out and show him around to nice restaurants or fun adventures and activities.

I've even thrown ideas to him and asks where are his favorite places to go. It's always " I want to show you places x, y, z," we never end up going. Or when I'm complaining its "you didn't know I had plans for us this weekend"

If he does nice things for me 9 times out of 10 its forced.. he feels guilty or bad about things or because I asked him to do it.

Wheres the effort... we've been dating for 2.5 years now

He's not going to change, you nagging him isn't going to make him change. If you're not happy in this relationship then end it and go find the guy that gives you what you want and need. I'm guessing this guy was never extremely romantic from the beginning. You were hoping that he would change. Well that's not going to happen

You made your decision. Continue to plan dates. He seems to like to go when you make arrangements. That's saying a lot. Sounds like he's just not that creative when it comes to arranging dates.
