Are "Players" diagnosed with a mental illness that they lie and hurt so many women?

So, when a player lies, manipulates and emotionally hurts women... then it makes me believe that he has mental and personality issues

I wouldn’t say that as an umbrella statement. But I think for a “player” to be a serial manipulator with no remorse, SOMETHING is broken.


I’d say, they’ve desensitized themselves and killed their conscience through repeatedly overriding their natural human inclination to empathize.


They likely have personalities that share many dark triad traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy.


Yet, also having an incredible amount of charisma and intuition.


Which makes them charming but dangerous.


Which in itself has a powerful allure.

I have pretty good success with women and my “game” is pretty on point. But, I wouldn’t call myself a player even though some girls have thought of me that way.

And, that’s because I have genuine intentions. I really AM looking for love. When I care, I really DO care. I believe in love and I value love. I really value true closeness and intimacy.

But, I could see how I could go down a dark path if I stopped believing in love. If I felt jaded and bitter about the ideals I no longer believed in. And, if I just settled for the “harsh reality” that true love doesn’t exist and I just f*cked many women because it’s just the best it’s ever going to get. Losing faith in quality and settling for quantity, trying to fill a void that can never be filled.

I don’t think players are truly happy with themselves deep down.

They probably do it to feel better about themselves in some way or do it to temporarily fill a void in their life. Maybe to prove something to themselves or to others.

Because, I think it’s a very human thing to long for a deep, meaningful, close relationship. To be with someone that genuinely loves you and cares for you and is committed to you. That’s incredibly fulfilling compared to short flings and shallow relationships.

Those who don’t want deep relationships like that either never have experienced them or don’t believe in them.

They ought to but likely are Narcissistic in their psychological make-up and often those people are either sociopathic or psychopathic too. You have specifics?

They just know what they want and know how to get it. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

No, being a player doesn't mean you're mentally ill. Arguably it has survival value, which simping doesn't.
