[For people who have dated classmates] What have been the pros and cons of relating to someone romantically who studies your same career and path?

I've been around friends who met and fall in love in grad school, as well as people who have passed painful breakups with classmates. I've tried to avoid any romance in my study environment, yet also sometimes I wonder if this is too "limiting", since nothing is written over in stone.

For people who have dated classmates, What have been the pros and cons of relating to someone romantically who studies your same career and path?

I did it in high-school and college... and to keep it simple

pros... there is a whole LOT of quality time together, since you usually have similar schedules and routines, that was great to me, in my case

cons... well, in my cause you're usually young and your future goals, path plans might indeed not be similar or shared, so that can cause an end to the cycle of that relationship because that would be what eventually works best for the future and interests of both partners
