Why do guys ignore a girl after giving her weeks of active attention?

I have a friend whom I like and want to date. We have been good to each other for some time and he gave me enough attention and care. But suddenly he started avoiding me. Why is that so? I am really hurt.

That's understandable and at first you're going to feel hurt but after that hurt fine the positive out of it what did you learn who did you learn you were on how you treated people and the things that you like to do and those things that you like doing with him find those because that's who you are and that's who you're going to be and that's a beautiful thing don't allow one guy to determine who you are and how you're going to feel you are the only person inside of you they can make you feel anything you have to be happy and move on it's a learning experience I know everybody hates going through it even myself but I also learned you can't make somebody love you you can't make anybody do anything and why would you want to you want them to do it on their own that way they prove to you who they really are you prove to yourself who you really are by the way you conducted yourself in the way you treated him and you have to smile about that that's a good thing all that means is that there's somebody else in line and you will get to relive everything once again but take everything that you learned and use it this time on this experience you're going to have many experiences like this and you have to learn how to balance yourself with them

He just spent a lot of time investing into you and he's tired. He needs a break. You have to give and take the same level of interest and enthusiasm in relationships to avoid burnout like that. Just pursue him a little; he'll shape up.

Maybe he is talking to other girls, maybe he doesn't know you are interested, maybe he is busy but if they are playing hot and cold then maybe they aren't the one. You shouldn't have to question where you stand with someone

Because you don't make intentions clear. He thinks you just want to be his friend and he was hoping for more, so out of disappointment he lost interest and is now looking for someone else.

If you wanted him you should've made it clear you just want to keep things poltonic until you're ready to go romantic, but you procrastinated and it caused him frustration.

You can still try, but he'll probably not be as interested anymore because you already showed him a lot of hesitation when he was giving you his best. He might feel disrespected.

@Midgetmcwidget You're friend zoning him when he gave you his heart. And now when he's moved on you want him showing him that you only want him out of desperation because you don't want to be alone. It tells him you don't really love him you just don't want to be lonely. But when he gave you his best you didn't want him.

I haven’t friend zoned the guy, I haven’t had the chance to speak to him and when I try he always seems uninterested. Today I bumped into a friend I worked with and have known for 7 years, she still works where I used to work about 3 doors up from my current job. He was walking past I said how and asked he was he was short with me so I don’t think he likes me but last week seems friendly and smiling at me. Don’t know where I stand with him.

@Midgetmcwidget He's at work he might not want to mess around with girls who know where he works at. I do the same thing at work. I don't say nothing personal about myself and just act aloof. I just act very professional all the time because if something awkward happens between me and a girl at work I have to see her everyday and I want to avoid that. Only if I leave that job I might talk to a girl at work.

Giving energy to someone who does not give it back becomes tiring after some time it's possible he will give it to someone else who gives it back. Then you'll panic and try to give him attention and he's already gone.
