Why do girls ignore the guy they supposedly like?

a girl I got on better with than anyone else, she is not shy around guys and can be very flirty , I told her I liked her and we kissed one night.

since then she's been ignoring me and I was about to give up until her friend told me that she did like me.

why does she ignore, me her friends even come up talking to me and she like ignores me on purpose ,why? is it she wants my attention or she s just no interested , we were good friends before but not now which hurts me

There are a few reasons but the best way to find out is to ask her directly (or even provide more details here...kinda vague)

You might have scared her. Depending on who kissed who, if it was all you then you might have gone a little too fast. She may need time to re-evaluate her feelings for you.

She might not like you in "that way" and she doesn't know how to tell you...doesn't want to hurt you...so she's ignoring the whole situation, not necessarily you (if that makes sense).

Or some weird thing like gossip, misunderstandings, who knows.

If I were you, I'd approach her very gently and take the hard part off her shoulders. You said you liked her, now tell her it's okay if she doesn't feel the same. Make a joke ("you'll just never get to know how good I look naked" or something silly but confident like that)

Tell her that you miss her friendship and ask if you guys can get past this weirdness and either give dating a try or go back to being great friends.

Hopefully, she'll be relieved and start spilling her guts and you'll find out why the silent treatment.

there could be many reasons...only way to find it out for sure is to just force her to talk. go up to her and just tell her that you think she's ignoring you and that you wonder why that is and that you're hurt by this action of hers!
