I'm black, and what people would call an "ice cream sandwich" basically, I dress posh, listen to FATM, hate modern styles, have an unhealthy obsession with Chuck Taylor's, and refuse to wear weave or even automatically act "ghetto". I feel my chances of getting a guy are worse than others because I have to beat black stereotypes men may think of when the meet me. On top of this, I have to watch out for men who're interested in me for racial clout.
It's questions like this that really give us Black people a bad rep. I saw a question by a Black dude on this same website basically talking about the same crap, and I had to check him for it.
Do NOT beg people to date you. If you want men to be interested in you, figure out what is wrong and fix it. Yes it is true that as a Black woman you will probably deal with some shit that other women will not have to deal with, but that won't go away and believe me that it's much better to just ignore it than let it pull you down. You can only work with what you have, and we have our own struggles. I'm also Black, so I would know.
Could this be a factor? Yes it could be, however it's not the be-all and end-all. There are plenty of Black women out there who have no problem attracting marriage-minded men, because they know how to play to their strengths and ignore those who have something to say about their ethnicity.
Try to look into other reasons for this lack of available men. Do you have extremely high standards? Do you look for guys to approach you in the wrong venues? Is it that you have a resting b face and seem unbothered? (Yes that's a thing). Whatever it maybe, find it and fix it.

Asker+1 yThank you for telling me this eye-opening statement, it's really helped me realize I may be over-worrying. However, I would never, in my life, beg someone to date me. That's desperate.

+1 yI've met very few black women in my life because of my location. I'm not sure what an "Ice creme sandwich" is, but I have always thought that black women who act and talk similar to the white women I grew up around are very intriguing to me. I've always sympathized with the black women on television who claim to be bullied by other black people for acting "Too White" or "Not Black enough." I always wanted to tell those women that it's really hot when a black woman are "Too White on the inside" for lack of a better term.

If you're a classy woman, then no one but actual racists will care about your race whatsoever. The problem is, still finding a classy (and single) woman in 2022. Regardless of race.
Also, finding a single woman who isn't entitled or superficial. If you're a good woman, men will want you. I myself don't care about race, so yes, I'd definitely date a good black woman (especially a tall, thick one!) But, like I said, finding one who is worth it, is hard nowadays.
And to point out the elephant in the room, black women on average, tend to be the worst behaved and have the foulest attitudes, overall. I get socioeconomics plays a large role in this, but it's still a fact.
10 ReplyWell, I am. There aren't many black women in my country (not as many as in the States, but there are some). There's even one who's a mixture between white and black (sorry, I forgot the word in English for that; English ain't my first language), she's extremely hot and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one around here who finds her very sexy. But as usual I won't tell her bc it's pointless. She's like this princess who escaped from a fairy tale into the real world and I'm nobody, so it's pointless to even try.

+1 yUnfortunately, black women are the least desired demographic on the dating scene, but some guys may be interested in dating them (mostly other black people):

00 ReplyMen are absolutely interested in black women, but there's a lot of negative interactions people have with black women that pollute the interactions before you even get a chance to talk with them. As a black woman, you really have to be on your game because a man isn't necessarily going to want to take a chance on you because he's got those other negative past experiences.

+1 yYou don't have to accept that idea you know. by the way you shouldn't repeat, ice cream sandwich or Oreo etc. Black is everything under the sun. You are you. You can choose to accept any idea you wish. My suggestion would be to stop accepting ideas that don't serve you. You can reject it. Accept only what serves you.

+1 yI don’t know any men who specifically are not interested in black women. The men I know are strange in that they treat people as individuals, not tokens in a faceless nameless Marxist dialectic.

If guys aren’t attracted to you it’s because of racism...
... and if they are attracted to you and pursue you it’s because of a racial fetish.

+1 yPersonally, idgaf about a girl's race. I care if you meet some basic physical requirements (don't be overtly unhealthy) and have a good personality.
