How many pets are too many for you not to want to date someone?

I have been dating this women, its been a lot of fun and I do seriously like her. She said she had 1 dog when we started dating. You find out she really has 4 dogs, one for each kid who are 14, 16 and 17... so she claims she didn't lie when she said she only had 1 dog. On top of that she has 5 cats, 2 rabbits and a snake. Again all of which are her kids and not hers.

On average it costs $50 a month to feed a dog. 4x dogs (In this case all Huskies) = $200 a month

On average it costs $50 a month for a cat with food and litter= 5 x cats $250 month

The snake is feed twice a month with live rats its $10 a rat = 2x rats $20 a month

Then two rabbits again about $40 a month for feed = 2x rabbits $80 a month

So that means she is spending about $550 to $600 a month to feed all her pets, and that is not counting any other out of pocket expenses. She's over $10,000 in debt with correctors can't afford to register her car and she is taking pay day loans. And she thinks all her animals are like people, but at what point does having so many pets become a determent to yourself, finically and emotionally when it comes to dating?

I dated a girl who insisted that her dog sleep in bed with us whenever I spent the night with her. The dog weighed 70 pounds and I really couldn't sleep with that dog in the bed. And the girlfriend didn't see the problem. It is possible to get TOO attached. . . and I am a cat and dog lover!

So he fucks her three times and then gives her a spanking.

Your girl was deliberately misleading and she knew what she was doing. If she thinks that is okay, brother, you need to run. . .

Wow. Yeah, she has some issues there.
Though some women do that with babies. (Catholic girls lol.). So they can be a financial liability as well.

All I can say is I certainly hope she isn't expecting you to swoop in and rescue her and bail her out. (... And then take care of her and all of her animals for perpetuity.)

Offered her a few hundred bucks to hold her over to the next pay day and offered to help her out with developing a budget and debt repayment plan... I am really good when comes it comes to finances. But I told her we would have to have a serious conversation about her situation.

To her credit she refuses to take money from me and to her detriment refuses to accept any help from me. I told her I am not going to pretend to be okay with this situation and to call me when she is ready to have a serious conversation.

50/50 if I ever hear from her again... she doesn't want to hear it or believes its none of my business. Which is fine honestly I am not a cheater, but I have no problem dating her, but I can't be in a committed relationship with someone who can't handle adult conversations. Long term its not going to work out.

There are many things to this. First of all people who can't control their economy shouldn't have pets. A surprise vet-bill Ca easily be 600 right away tomorrows boom. If you have a chaos economy and can't pull 7 or 800 bucks up your wallet without notice you don't have animals. Simple as that.

Whatever a payday loan is, it sounds like sometimes you should generally stay away from.

If the economy is generally going like you describe, she needs a second job and some serious financial help.

Last but not least: pets are like humans. My dogs are the kings and queens of this castle. If you don't want hair on your clothes, stay away.

Pay day loan is when you borrow against your next pay check, depending on you credit score it can be any where from 10% to 30% interest rates. They are literally like going to loan shark. Its like working and getting paid 80$ for every 100$ you are paid.

I think it's time the "owners" of all those pets start pitching in with some part-time or odd jobs. We'll see if they feel the same way then...

As for her, she needs to find real help before going bankrupt. The original commenter mentioned an unexpected vet bill, what about an unexpected bill for the humans?

I don't know where you live, but in some countries there are consumer's associations that help with that, with legal council and tips on how to consolidate that debt and loans. Not an easy conversation but maybe information she should have before that debt increases further.

@MAC1983 Nah, because any responsible pet owner would tell you that you got too many pets if you are finically unable to provide for their finical needs health and well being. So for her these pets are like children, it would like you going into a child protective services for help, and risk them taking always your children.

She works as a medical assistance makes $40K a year... and is now putting in for a second jobs to make more money. Bottom line she's got to take out pay day loans and take on a second job in order to by food for herself. She has two kids and 10 animals, its fucking sad.

Animals are not the same as people, at some point you got to do what's right for everyone to include yourself.

ONE, if they let it rule the house on the couch.. walking along the back of couch to Meow in your ear, in/on the bed... in the Master Bedroom... Got to go everywhere all the time and thanks a dog cage is immoral and cruelty. And, hints that the dog is "MY CHILD..." or has one of those Dog On Board or Grandkids or my dog is better behaved than you and your children!!! type bumper sticker on car...
