I went out on a coffee date with a guy and it went really well. Later that afternoon we make plans to get dinner downtown that day, dinner goes well and we decide to head to a comedy show. After the comedy show we headed back to his place for a glass of wine and obviously start fooling around, yes we slept together, hey if it feels right do it, and then he said he was going to be out of town the next two weekends. I never heard from him since. He seemed very concerned that I went out with him while starting a new job that Monday, he said he couldn’t do it and would need to be mentally focusing. Convenient excuse it seems. If all it was supposed to be was a one night stand then fine we had a ton of chemistry and similar interests and it was a super awesome time. But he spent close to $200 on a first date just for it to be a one night stand? I’ve been in relationships and never have a guy spend that much on me for a night out. The sex was drunken new partner sex, was it the best sex ever no but it takes 2-3 times to figure that out with anyone new, at the end he said I was really getting to him before he came. A week and a half later I text him hey stranger how are you and we exchange a few messages back and forth and now it’s silent for a week, with him highlighting how slammed he is with work. This weekend he is now home but it’s a holiday weekend. Thoughts on this? Would he text back if he wasn’t interested? Will I ever hear from this guy again? He works 100hrs a week and several hours a day on weekends. Is he truly just busy?

Well, by the details, sounds like he really is busy. If he is working 100 hours a week, including weekends, he is definitely a busy guy. Does that mean he didn't go through all that work on the date to get in your pants? Nope. Very real possibility that he could have done that just for sex.

I'm not saying he did, it is just a possibility. No one knows but him. We can only guess and speculate on what his intentions were. I would lean towards he did not put in that effort just for sex and he is really busy.

That is a lot of working hours. Plus, sounds like he has to travel often for work. It may really indeed be he has little time. That is on him though to attempt to date or whatever fully knowing he doesn't have the time to put in the effort.

That is the only thing leading me to believe he may have done this just for the sex. He knows full well that he doesn't have time to date. A guy that works that many hours knows what he has time for and doesn't have time for.

I think he is actually really busy, and he didn't really have the intention of starting a relationship with you. Personally, I don't think $200 is a lot of money to spend to get laid if it's not a regular thing.
