Is this a big age gap?

If we were to date, would this be a big age gap? I am 22 and he is 37 going onto 38.

He has probably experienced more of life than me but I’m really mature for my age too.

Age is only a number. If you two clicked. Why not give it a try if both of you like each other. There is couples with big aged gap. Just take it slow with him

Just let the relationship happen. Don’t worry about the long run and you will know if he fits in your life

Well any gap larger than 9 years. Statistically speaking your odds of success diminish tremendously. So I guess it depends on you and him and whether you think you can beat the odds.

Exactly my point. Sometimes good intentions on both side simply aren't enough. I'm not trying to discouraged you though. Just answer your questions. Sometimes the odds are defied. Unfortunately there's only one way to find out and it involves risk.

Thanks but I don't have all the answers. I just have the advantage of seeing who I was 25 years ago and comparing it to now. Everyone wants love and connection. Like you say people want different things at different stages of life. This is why I'm so fine to stay single right now. Because all relationships take effort (even the best ones). I think too many people enter into relationships they shouldn't just because they catch feelings without ever thinking about the long term ramifications.

Exactly. Liking someone and wanting a relationship are two different things. A relationship is a lifestyle.

10-15 years is the normal age gap; so you're only about a year off that.

That is why age gap relationships typically work better than relationships were they are close to the same age.

Yes, you compliment each other more effectively. Problems will always come up in a relationship; when you are more equipped to tackle them as a couple your relationship is more likely to survive.

The most important thing to share in a relationship is your values. By being at different life stages you bring a unique perspective on the issues that come up. Which allows you to more effectively tackle them together.
