Is this a bad age gap?

I’m 20 in a few weeks and I’m in the talking phase with a guy who’s 27. He doesn’t know that I’m 20 soon, just that I’m 19. He’s already graduated uni and is set in his career, whereas I’m not even in uni. He seems a little childish for his age (not in a bad way) and I like to think I’m mature for my age, or at least I act somewhat like an adult. I haven’t seen any ‘red flags’ except for the age gap supposedly being a red flag, and I have no idea how I’m going to tell my parents. All that aside, part of me thinks it’s okay, and part of me thinks it might be a little… worrying. Is it?

OK, you asked your question and then you say something about the age gap and then you state. Supposedly it's a red flag. It's only a red flag if you want it to be. This is about you and him. This is part of growing up learning.

You're doing it because of the experience you're doing it because of the unknown.
Go into it because you want to go into it. Because there's something there don't look like at it as You are committed for the rest of your life.
Because it's not going to go that long

But for the time your with him enjoy it learn from it. Because you will need That knowledge somewhere down the road.

If you're gonna do it. Be 100% honest with yourself. Why you're doing it and it's nobody else's business not even mine. This is a moment in time for the both if you to learn

The odds of it working out is there? It's very slim but you never know It dependss on the both of you and what your both looking for

7 years apart is not even a large age gap. I have family and friends that have 20 plus years difference in age. Anyone who thinks age matters are sheep. The only thing that matters is that they have past the age of puberty, there's mutual attraction, and consent on both sides. At 19 years old, you're a full grown adult and you can make your own decisions.

16 is the legal age of consent in Canada and Japan. I think 16 is fine to date whoever the heck you want.

Yeah, don't let the sheep get to you. They'll bark crap like "He's a pedophile." without even knowing the definition of a pedophile (someone attracted to prepubescent children (which are around children under 12 years old)).

They'll say you're strange for dating a guy 7 years older than you, but that's just because they can't think for themselves. There are countless couples in the world with much larger age gaps.

Don’t hide it from him. You’re both adults it’s not wrong. Just the talking phase is to see if you’re compatible. So you’re going to have mixed feelings be honest with yourself and him and see where it leads.

It is fine, even if the gap was bigger than that. What is important is if you have compatible morals, and compatible long term life goals, along with a few things/activities you enjoy doing together. That is what matters for long term success.

I’m 27 and met a friend of my brother’s, she’s 19
We’re not seeing each other since I’m leaving soon but we have chemistry and relate on everything
In another life I would have dated her for sure


And I am set in my career etc etc
Trust me. Most people at 27 are still kids at heart
