So, I think you have one of the most important things down... manners. You are already ahead of the game there. Just having basic manners is such an attractive quality. Some other really simple things you can do are things like opening the door or pulling out her chair.

Those types of gentlemanly gestures always catch my attention. I don't know what it is about that stuff, but it always impresses me. To go the extra mile in being courteous and polite is a huge score for me personally.

Another simple but effective thing is to have some talking points in mind. Sometimes, especially on first or second dates, those awkward lulls or silence can create some uneasiness.

Having a few things to fire out there to keep a conversation going is never a bad idea. I assume you know this girl enough to be able to have some things she would be interested in discussing in mind.

Last, let her lead the conversation. I am not saying you have to sit there and listen the whole time and not talk yourself. What I mean is start a conversation and let her run with it and you keep it going.

If stuck, throw out one of your topics you have stored to keep things going. Good conversation equals good date. I don't know what you are planning, but I would stay away from activities where conversation is tough... like movies.

I really don't think you have anything to be worried about considering you have the manners part down. Once piece of advice is let her dictate what is acceptable on the first date (or whatever date you are on) as far as physical touching (holding hands, goodnight kiss). Ok, so then you don't know a whole lot about her. What I would do then is have some general things to bring up. Just think of a few. I will give an example of how this can work.

I might say "Do you like to travel at all? I love to travel when I get the chance. I am partial to going to beach destinations".

She might say "I love the beach. I am big into snorkeling and diving".

Bingo. Let her take over the conversation. You can just say oh, I've never been diving or snorkeling, what's it like? So, this is just an example of how that can work.

Think of a few different things to bring up. You will hit on one and then shift the conversation to her and ask questions as she talks. You will learn more and more about her and can expand on what she says.
