Is five years a big age gap? I’m interested in a man who is 5 years younger than me but more established than I and very intellectual?

At 30-ish? 5 years isn't even going to register. It'd be more normal than not.

I usually go with the notion that if we could meet somewhere and see ourselves dating each other before talking age, then age (assuming legal and all of course) is a non-factor.

And also, I have come to understand as I grow old and wise (ahem) that what really matters in this regard is the phase of life you are in. Not how many birthdays you had. And if his is ahead of yours, in some sense he's the older one anyway.
