Is it weird that I give the guy I'm seeing food I cooked?

A week ago I cooked meatballs when I sent him a picture he said he hadn't had meatballs for ages. He complimented the dish and because I cooked so many I said I'd put some aside for him in the freezer for when I next see him.
Whenever we go out he always pays for our meals and drinks, he's not rich but definitely been honest about his limitations, despite that I can see he's a decent human that perhaps has messed up a few times but who else doesn't.
Anyways maybe he's just tapping into my caring nature but the cheeky, man about town has actually stopped the act and I can see that he's showing a little vulnerability.
I don't give him food because he needs it I give it because its my way of including him in my life.

Kinda depends how far along you are and the vibe that is going. It's good to be yourself, if that's who you are, sharing. Maybe one of your love languages is one of gifts, doing. Sounds like he's receptive and pays for dates, so sounds ok.

We've been dating since June 19th. So it's still very new.
And yes I don't have an abundance of cash, but what I have is resourcefulness. And an ability to cook.
My meatballs were made from scratch. I always glance over at recipes to ensure I'm heading in the right direction but I rather try and make them my own... In terms of seasonings.
I hate process food. And much rather home cooked food

I am hearing and seeing this a lot these days qnd specially when a woman cooks for the guy. This is how you include someone in your life, very beautiful and generous. I don't find it weird, but there is a possibility as many know that in this case he can't cook and so does millions of men, and they are feeling comfortable in having someone replacing their mom's cooking 🤷‍♂️. I can be very wrong.

This makes a lot of sense. Well all I'll say is its no big deal. We've cooked together. Although I did most the cooking lol. And he made the coleslaw... 😊 But this time I just really wanted to make meat balls and had sooo many left over so I asked him if he would like some. And put them in separate containers in the freezer for him. He almost didn't remind me to give them to him. Although I think he's happy I give him things I also think he's a little shy about taking it.

My mum has hardened over the time especially given some of my experiences.
She doesn't want me to be taken advantage of.
She raised her eyebrows at the fact I was doing this...
I think for her she's afraid that I will be too kind to a person who's only using me.
And since he's not rich and earns not the best salary. She's wary. I on the other hand have never been treated as well as this guy treats me. And the thing is he's not doing anything beyond being a decent human being

I definitely am not dating for money. I want to fall in love again. And I really like him. We share the basic core principles, respect, loyalty and family.
He also at the beginning on our first date was so gentle and compassionate with me that I couldn't possibly say he's a bad guy.
he's confident in his abilities and knows his limitations, yes he does get annoyed when he's wrong. But so far he steps away to have a smoke and comes back having left that emotion outside.
We've encountered minor issues and we talk things through. That's a change for both of us. I couldn't communicate with my partner be only shout then hang up on me. Where as his previous used to punch him.

The only issue I have is communication. He prefers voice notes over calls.
I think he gets nervous and I think he's a little worried that he might say the wrong thing.

Because he's made it clear that although he's now an electrican he didn't do so well in school.
He's had people tell him in front of me that he's punching above his weight.
And I think because my career allows me a little more freedom he feels out of it.
I dunno really but I just hope it's not going to be too much for him. I don't ever want him to think I feed him because he's poor or stupid or anything like that. I like to share and I like him, I also want to make sure he has something nice to eat. And it's my way of showing some gratitude for his kindness wanting to take me out and us having fun etc etc.

Not weird at all. My girlfriend generally eats what I coooked when she stays over. This is probably because she can't cook, but I've been living with my parents since COVID-19 hit. They cook for each other and could also cook for her, instead she is willing to eat what I am cooking. We do occasionally eat Subway and order pizza, but only when I am not in the mood to cook or reheat leftovers.

It's a tough one there are other things going on that personally I feel might be a factor. I'd hate for him to feel like I'm trying to take over and bulldoze my way into his life, I really like him and its only meant to be a kind gesture to show my gratitude really. I have always valued a man. But I also don't want to be with a man who expects and demands.
Don't get me wrong I will still buy a drink when we're out. But I personally stop buying when I've reached my limit. So he will then buy his own while I ask for water.
I like him I've always been this way. I've just never met someone who respects my kindness. I do worry sometimes that his kindness is because he doesn't earn so much and I could potentially be his meal ticket. (which sounds really off)
