Why is he giving me smart ass remarks now?

He’s my friends with benefits, we both see other people. We see each other twice a week. He tells me he doesn’t want a relationship. I was telling him that I was mad that I found out 2 of my guys friends were lying to me so i stopped communicating with them. He then tells me you were just dating them are you trying to collect them all like hot wheels. Is he starting to care now? I was only dating one of the guys the other was just a friend.
