A man with kids?

For around 2 years now this guy has been really nice to me he’s a friend of my dads and he’ll notice my emotions and help me a lot and always check up on me but kept his distance cause I was in a long term long distance relationship. It’s been just years of him being and he’s been looking for a relationship that’ll last as he’s been hurt a lot I hear my dad always talking about the stuff he’s been through etc. anyways he has 2 kids. We recently told each other about our feelings as I’m now single and he seems really nice and genuinely won’t give up even though I’m wary as I’ve been hurt too. But I don't know if I want to be with someone with kids but it’s rare to find guys with his kind of mindset🤷🏻‍♀️any advice. by the way I’m 20 he’s 6 years older than me.
