Are friends crucial in finding your special someone?

Crucial as in, you go out usually with friends, they match you up with someone, you date their siblings/their friends but at the same time you meet people on your own too, and in the end a friendship isn't as important as a relationship.

That's just how it is for me, personally.

They are not crucial, but they are extremely useful. Especially in men, since for a woman a man who is not socially accepted will not be seen as someone trustworthy. On the other hand, for a man that a woman is lonely is not relevant. On the other hand, going out with friends is always a plus. I remember going to a gym a few years ago and two groups became friends, one was girls and one was boys. To make a long story short... basically one of the guys was able to date a very attractive girl who we all noticed was not interested in him. In the end nothing happened, but if it hadn't been for her friend, surely the girl would have been much sharper.

The only advice I would take is from opposite sex friends , A girl friend is pretty spot on when she tells me another girl likes me or not , just like a guy can tell a girl if another guy likes her or not , That’s the difference between guys and girls , Don’t get me wrong there are times when we can tell if someone likes us or not but they have to be showing body language and making eye contact for the most part. But if I go out I prefer to go out with girl friends because my chances are better lol

I would say crucial, because an SO should be one of your best friends before they are your SO. But I don't think you need other friends to find that friend.

I think it can certainly help speed things up a lot though, like if they have relatives or friends that are perfect for you, but these days people aren't friendly enough to their friends to even think about being like; "so my sister/cousin/friend would be perfect for you".

People today are very cold and hesitant to trust anyone, they assume the worst in people, they don't meet their neighbors or talk to people after class or work.

Yes, that’s the only way I can date a girl. People these days use dating apps and stuff or initiate on social media but all that just feels so weird to me and those things do not work for me. I would form such kind of relationships only through my social circle.

Friends are very crucial when dating. I married a beautiful friend at the start of our dating. We were with a group of friends at a church function. My wife and I have been married for 44 years. We started out as friends and blossomed into best yes friends is very crucial you may good people as friends. Our relationship has blossomed.

My husband and I met when our families went on separate vacations to the same spot. No friends involved at all.

I think so too but my friend who has moved out to Denmark keeps saying that you gotta go forward, become a party social person, otherwise there's no chance.
