Should I tell him the truth?

I’ve been talking to this guy for awhile, things seem fine but we haven’t asked each other out yet. I don’t wanna wait for him to ask me out, but I’m scared he’ll reject me if I step up and ask him first.

And sadly I’ve actually never had a boyfriend before. I’m afraid I might scare him away if I tell him that I never dated. He’ll probably second guess me and think something is wrong with me.

But I don't know if it’s even a good idea to mention being a first timer in the dating scene. I wanna be honest but is it possibly unnecessary?

This says something about either his interest level, or, at your age, perhaps his inexperience.

Does he seem interested?
Is he single?

He is probably not going to reject you if the answer to both of those are "yes".

However, you might be better off waiting for him to ask anyways, because this will help you learn about his ability to lead.

If he doesn't ask, maybe he wasn't interested, or maybe he's clueless.
Saves you the risk of rejection, or, ending up with a guy who might make you unhappy otherwise in the longer term.

If he does ask, then things work out how you currently hope.

It is hard to scare a guy off when you are offering to spend formal time with him. You ASK then you PAY ‼️
