Yeah, sort of depends on whether you're talikng about actual obsession or not. If someone is always on your mind that isn't necessarily bad. But if you go to the point of putting too much importance on their every action and interaction and trying to control those? Nobody likes to be smothered

Being obsessed with a person is a turn off in general even in relationships because being obsessed turns you into a possessive/ controlling person. Healthy relationships consist of love/like which is completely different from obsession.

Guy or girl if something exceeds a certain limit it would be a turnoff. Besides obsession is actually an unhealthy addiction it can lead to one invading another's personal space or boundaries which isn't cute, so this is not just a crush.
