The title says it all. Yes, he was someone I was hooking up with. Yes, I caught feelings and I didn't expect to. He has also told me he will never stop talking to me, he contradicts himself all the time honestly. I've never had anyone say this to me before. "I will never love you." I just find it so hard to believe. Is it true that men can never change their minds once they see you as just a hookup?

As a woman maybe it’s hard to believe but for a man not so much. I don’t encourage my friends to pursue friends with benefits situations for this exact reason, sex is too intimate and we are too emotional. 9/10 men don’t gain attachments like that when they never had the intent to commit in the first place. Saying you’re fine with casual to me is just settling for any part of him you can get rather than setting boundaries for yourself. Now he’s telling you he doesn’t love you and instead of accept it and leave him, you just cannot possibly believe he’s only using you. Misinterpreting his actions on purpose does nothing for you. It’s better to move on to a guy who’s on the same page as you consistently from the start.
