Sorry to be cynical [It is my username afterall], but if true love existed, why can't everyone find love?

I referring to those genuinely trying to find love, that put themselves out there, and have good personalities. I'm pretty sure 75 percent of you on there that are single can tell me horror stories you've been through in terms of being rejected you weren't "good enough," attractive enough, were the "friend but not the girl/boyfriend" etc...

Why are divorce rates so high? People whom supposedly found their "soul mates" wound up in unhappy marriages, cheated on, lied to, or manipulated.

Love does exist, but true love is a fairy tale that not everyone is able to attain in this life. Again, I'm not trying to be cynical, but rather realistic. People should aim for finding love in him or herself first and foremost, then focus on finding people and things in their lives that care about them: friends, family, pets, hobbies that you're passionate about... and if you can find a person worth your time and effort, THEN a relationship.

Exactly! I don't even really do the whole "friends" thing anymore. That's not to say I'm not friendly or anti-social or don't have friends. But the term "friend" means something to me. If I call someone "friend" it means I'm down for them. And I expect the same. Life is easier when you have low expectations for people. If you keep your expectations low you can't be disappointed. 🤣

Exactly I was open for that years ago not anymore its pointless and everyone has their on views on friends.. it's mainly about sex and nothing else. I'm really done with society and dating. The whole idea indefinitely!
