I know it seems a bit nervewracking. But the best thing is to be yourself. If he likes you and you want him to know that you like him, you need to show that you do. If he thinks you're not interested he could lose interest. You can definitely be the one to text first. Relationships are a two way street. Both side can message first or second and vice versa. Why not? Since it's been awhile and things have gone good, I don't see the problem in showing a little trust and doing it first this time. I don't think it'll turn him off, most guys want a woman to show him so interest and care too. It can't be a one-way street all about her getting the attention, so yes, text him first.
