Guy Im talking to has never been with a tall woman?

I’ve been talking to this guy I met on a dating app. He is tall (6ft4) and I am also tall (5ft10). I asked if he’s ever been with a tall woman before and he said that no, he has had relationships with 8 women (girlfriends and friends with benefits) and they were all short, the tallest being 5ft4. I asked him I come, and he said that he rarely sees tall women. I find it odd since we live in an area with a lot of above average height women (5ft6 and up) and I struggle to believe that. We are from Canada by the way.

I am wondering if he just wants to try a tall woman for a new sexual experience, and that he may have a preference for really short women. I don’t know how to feel being with someone that I am not their type. Thoughts?

As a fellow Canadian... let me just say: You are waaaaaaaaaay overthinking this.

I think this might just be the very worst case of "overthinking yourself into crazy-thoughts" that I have ever seen in my life.

Slow down a minute.

Take a step back from the situation for a second.

You are CHOOSING to focus on the height thing.

You could say things like "most of his ex's were blonds" and start worrying that you weren't his type because you happened to be a brunette. That would be really really silly... right?

The idea that you aren't his type because he hasn't dated any other tall girls is quite a leap.

I have a type. Definitely. But... height is totally irrelevant to the type of girl I'm attracted to. It's more of a 'personality type' rather than a physical type anyway. But you know what? The girl I dated in high school for a few years was tall, but other than that... my relationship history is full of (gasp!) short girls! Like especially short girls.

Do you know how insane I would think it, If I was hitting-it-off with a girl who happened to be tall, and she thought (even in the back of her mind) that maybe I was only interested in her "to try a tall girl"? Like some sort of novelty?

What kind of guy would even THINK that way? It seems to suggest you don't have much confidence in this guy's honesty, integrety and motives. This is not how any half-decent guy would ever think. This... isn't even going to cross a guy's mind. At all.

This is very much you allowing your own insecurities (whether it's about being tall, or through some misguided notion of 'type')... you are taking your own insecurities, and allowing them to guide the way you're looking at this whole situation.

Isn't it entirely possible, that this guy just... likes you?

That it's YOU, that he finds attractive, and interesting and that... he doesn't really care about how tall you happen to be?

I honestly think that this is the sane, rational assumption to make at this point.

Height (or 'type') are YOUR hang-ups... not his. But don't let your hang-ups cloud your judgement and your reasoning when you're looking at this situation. It is doing you harm.

You're worried that this guy might not be interested in you for the right reasons... based on nothing at all whatsoever, aside from your own personal insecurities. If you were to, say, decide he must only be interested in 'trying a tall girl' and decided to stop talking and move-on... what a shame that would be! It would be totally unnecessary. There is no reason at all to think that this is actually what this guy thinks. And who knows. You might end up tossing away Mr. Right... just because you've got a 'personal thing' about being tall.

Please don't do that to yourself. There is no problem here. Don't invent one. 🙂

Now I'm wondering is THIS @CoolCatMar1. 18 to 24 years old, 5'9" to 5'10". Broken English. Bragging about "a new tall boyfriend." Has to be! The "Canada" line is just to throw us off!

Anyway, most men don't care, and the few who do, are tall men (6'1" and up.) Tall men and short women see "tallness as masculine and shortness as feminine." Him, being 6'4", probably shares that view too and MIGHT see you as "masculine." But 5'10" isn't a masculine height whatsoever and is still in the female/feminine zone, so he may not see you as less feminine, either. I guess it depends on what he considers to be a tall man (usually, it's six feet minimum which is the start of the male/masculine zone.)

... Or, he just doesn't care.

My short ass has stopped pursuing dating, since I'm somewhere between your height and his height, but less than six feet, therefore, are undateable to women (I kinda narrowed it down easily; if you were to guess.) I don't know what to tell ya, Amazon Warrior Wonder Woman! 🤷‍♂️

As a fellow 5’10” woman, I can tell you that height differences can be a huge disadvantage in the bedroom. My boyfriend is 6’8 and sex was definitely a bit of a learning curve as the positioning/angling is quite different than usual to prevent him slipping out and having a broken dick.

My boyfriend is almost a foot taller than me which is already an issue so.. ngl, I’m kinda weirded out by how your guy has only dated women at least a whole foot shorter than him, as well as even shorter. Not saying he sought them out but.. odd.

Its probably a fetish. I'm not a woman but i'm a short guy and I get weirded out by a lot of tall guys just looking at them. They have this creepy demeanor and rapey facial appearance to them. I don't know how the fuck girls like these guys because they look like they came from prison. Its even more disturbing when you see some of these guys with immensely shorter women, it looks off. If you do suspect he's a weird fuck just save your time and find someone else. there's tall guys that think even girls that are 5'6 are too "tall" its stupid. Let them go for dick sucking height women if thats what they want.

Height tends to be a non-issue for guys. It is more likely that he, as the tall person, were targeted by these rather short women.

While you are above average height I really don't think you qualify as a fetish-tall or anywhere close to it. I really think he's just making you feel a little special or finds it refreshing.

Guys tend not to stress over height unless the woman is taller than them or they are really short. That's more a woman thing.
So I'd guess he's interested in you not your height.
And bear in mind, if he's 6'4, you are small.

in my personal experiences past and present I am 6'1 and never had any issues with height for example the tallest female i dated was 6' and the shortest was 4'11
