Why do guys never ask out tall girls?

There was one time I wanted to at a party. I was on top of a small staircase and she was at the bottom, and I could tell she was tall but I didn't realize the sheer extent until I stepped down the stairs to ask her how it's going.

She was so tall! Definitely over 182cm (over 6 feet), I think maybe close to 190cm.

So when I reached the bottom of the staircase, my head was aligned to her boobs. I expected to be at least somewhere close to face level (I'm 173cm), maybe looking up slightly but not see such a towering figure over me.

I still thought she was attractive and looked so friendly and charming but I completely fumbled my words since I was so thrown off by her height. We talked for a little bit and then she literally patted me on the head and tousled my hair and said I'm cute. Then I sort of stumbled away back up the staircase.

I was just so thrown off. Also such tall women are almost unheard of in Japan so I didn't exactly get to practice talking to them and asking them out on a regular basis. If I had more practice, I think I would have gotten the hang of it comfortably asking a woman out while literally looking up at her face. Yet that one encounter messed up my whole game since I was so unused to women being *that* much taller than me.

I get that. As someone who is 5’10” myself (which is roughly 177.8 cm), I am not used to guys being so much taller then me so I get slightly intimidated when I meet some of my brothers friends who are closer to like 6’4” (which is around 193 cm). I mean, not all his friends are that tall but a few are.

It might help if you are very patient and friendly with any guys who venture to approach (assuming you like them well enough). I always found the tallest women the most attractive on just a purely visual level since I like those long proportions with the long arms and long legs. Also I've never been the type insecure about the idea of being teased for dating a woman hovering over me, as though that takes anything away from my masculinity. My favorite shirt for a good while was even pink like this. 😅

I've always been a bit rebellious this way so I wouldn't have minded at all dating even a woman that dwarfs me in height if she was down. I wouldn't care enough if guys tease me for it to sway me away from a lovely woman.

Only thing that would matter to me is what she thinks of me. Like if she thought I was a lesser man for being smaller than her or smaller than other men, that might give me a bit of an insecurity and complex. But otherwise, the rest of the world can be damned.

Especially ones that enrich their lives. I got that a bit with my first serious girlfriend when I was in the US for university as she was a black American. So many people teased us and gave us dirty looks being such a clear interracial couple and admittedly it bugged me at times, but I'd be an idiot to let that dissuade me from who I love.

Similar reason why girls don't date short guys. To put it in perspective: you're very tall for a woman - taller than the average man. How many girls do you know would date a man who is 5'2" which is shorter than the average woman? Probably not many, right?

But it all ready sounds like you're willing to keep your expectations realistic and date guys who are a little shorter so there's not really much more you can do besides that. You can't change your height, but you can have a positive attitude, a realistic set of standards in men that emphasize what's most important to you in a relationship, and just be the best person you can be in the areas you can control.

They don’t want to be shamed in public because most tall girls like to wear 6 inch pumps that I’ve seen in person out in public and they tower over the guy I’m not talking about me personally, I’m talking about other people out in public I don’t know why they do this if they want power. I don’t think a girl needs to look like she’s 6 foot six or 6 foot five

Short stacks are more attractive. I have nothing against tall women and have been with one taller than me, and one about the same height, but those are anomalies. One approached me and the other was a co-worker where it just sort of happened.

On the flip side of things, would you really feel comfortable being with someone who fetishized your height? I know I've been turned off and rejected women who fetishized an aspect of me they heard about from a girlfriend.

The generally put a lot less effort towards me than shorter women. Think about it. Which person are you going to like more? The one that is cordial and inviting or the one. That's is awkward and cold? I really could care less about a woman's height. But shorter women make greater effort generally.
