First message over internet, by process of elimination.
Let's see, you got Hendrix. Some woman. A plane. And some tackle ball players.
Internet was invented by Clinton, so not that. Nixons term I'm certain went on into the 70s. So those two are out.
Fake moon landing I feel would be too easy, so that's out.
Super Bowl did start some time around that time.
I don't know anything about Judy Garland or how old Wizzard of Oz is.
I could play it safe and vote "something else", and either not say, or come up with a completely different event and I technically wouldn't be wrong. I'll do THAT.
George Lazenby's only Bond movie, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was released.
It wasn't the moon landing, Nixon or Judy Garland. The Superbowl was in January.
At first, I was thinking Woodstock, but that was in August.
So I guess it was the first internet transmission.
It wasn't the moon and it wasn't nixon... hmm. it wasn't judy... superbowl is in winter...
WAS it the internet? Wow. I didn't know we had internet back then. What was the message?
no idea... but it wasn't the Super Bowl win, because that only happens on January/February
Nixon was KICKED OUT on my birth, day... I've always known that funny fact
and the Moon landing happened mid-year, so... has to be Judy or the internet
It was the Arpanet.
If only Soviets decided to finance Ogas project, they would actually have the first internet (but it would be under state control).
The only possibilities are #2 and #3. Nixon resigned in July 1974. Armstrong walked on the moon in July 1969. The Jets won Super Bowl 3 in January. That was before we had three months of playoffs pushing the Super Bowl into April.
I had to look it up. Poor Judy Garland, though. She really got put through the wringer. She looked like she was at least 65 when she died at 47.
The very first message was sent over ARPANET, the precursor to the modern internet. I read something about it just a few days ago.
Judy Garland? Just a guess.
I DO know however that this would have been black Tuesday in 1929... AND Sir Walter Raleigh lost his head.
by process of eliminstion I pick the ARPANET. I believe it happened in Cambridge , mASS at Bolt, Beranek and Newman's
I am excluding myself for cheating. I must say 1969 was chocka block full of notable events.
She's off to see the wizard somewhere over the rainbow.
a lot happened in 1969 and I even have the newspaper of the moon landing in 1969 but I never would’ve thought it was Internet
On October 29, 1969, the first message was transmitted over ARPANET, the precursor to the modern Internet.
Arpanet
