My uncle was a medic attached to this unit.
280mm cannon. About 40 mile max range.
He never said if he saw it fired. My guess is that since he was stationed in Germany that they never fired it.

I think it’s important to understand that the military has access to technology well before it’s released for public or commercial use, so they’re cameras were probably more durable and advanced than what you’d think. That being said these cameras were also housed in extremely durable and shielded boxes with really thick glass, located a good distance away from the blasts.
