Question

Yes, her/his credit score. You do your check with some unknown background checker and see that their credit is... oof. But yet, they seem to have their life in order and they don't live with you. You've just been dating for 3 weeks and it's going down a wonderful road. However, your parents told you not to date someone with a bad credit score... will you heed their advice?

The idea of a "credit score" is that some organizations, without your knowledge or consent, track your movements and actions and share the information they collected about you with unknown parties, then sell you the opportunity to check the information they have, to see if it's inaccurate.

Under any other circumstance, you'd call that extortion. Someone having the guts to defy those people is a plus, in my book. Not as much as, say, hauling the assholes into court on a harassment charge, or just gunning them down in the street, but hey, you've got to start somewhere.

And if you live a life that's within your means, you don't HAVE to have any dealing with those bastards, aside from threatening them if they don't leave you alone.

Do you or your idiot parents know what a credit score really is? If not here's a clue it's really called a SUCKER score. And if you don't believe me look it up on Google. My credit score is well over 705 and i still get turned down for mortgages and personal loans because the asshole people who run the credit checks flat out LIE to the banks about my credit history and i and someone else who was with me caught them flat out LYING and got into huge blowouts with the companies over their LIES to the banks

My credit score was shot big time, about 620 if I recall correctly, from a divorce and medical when my wife and I met. My wife’s was ok 740ish. Neither of us even worried about what our credit scores were while dating. Both in the 800’s when we got married so no I can’t say I’d ever care about someone’s credit score while dating.

It depends. If whatever was causing that credit score to be low has been taken care of I’d be ok w it. It just takes time for her score to improve. But if she’s still in debt for thousands of dollars, than no.

It depends upon how low the credit score and the reasons. I know someone with low 600's because she never uses credit. Inherited a house and pays for everything cash / debit, including cars when needed. No debts, but no credit, either.
