Many women say they want a taller man to feel protected. But if I am shorter a bit but athletic and master martial arts, am I still less valued?

Your issue is seeing what women say through a logical lens. It's purely emotional, not based on reality... more fantasy. The fact that a short man may look after her better, be stronger, or trained in fighting has no bearing on it...

But I've never seen height as an issue, and I have no issue attracting women without lifting a finger...
