It depends how old the person is, and if they at least have a job and is looking to get a car soon. But you shouldn't break up with them over a car thats stupid. unless there a low life.

I do not know any woman who will date a guy without a car or whose transportation is bike, scooter/moped, bus, or Uber. Maybe it is just my friend group...

I wouldn't have thought lack of a car was a red flag but I suppose it depends where you are in the world and how inconvenient it is.
