Met this guy on a dating app and we talk everyday its been 6 weeks. I'm not quite ready to meet yet because I was stalked and harassed for 2 months after meeting another guy online. He threatened me and everything. This new guy knows this brw

Anyway he told me yesterday ( we are both 33) that he told his mom im afraid to meet him and that she is going to tell me off for treating her son like this and that I would be lucky to have him.

Should I just end it here?

What's most concerning is that he told his mom you're afraid to meet him which to me sounds like a mangling of the truth. Yes, you have concerns but they are legitimate and based in your past. It doesn't sound "afraid". So him saying that to his mom is concerning.

Then the fact that his mom is so involved in his love life that she wants to get upset about this and tell you off is gigantically concerning. Makes me ask what other areas of your/his life would she get involved in if you guys formalize a relationship.

Finally, the fact that he would tell you all that is enormously concerning. Who does that? Seriously -- he's a 33 year old man who tells his mom about a woman he'd like to see, then tells the woman that he's talking about his love life with his mom and also says to the woman that mom is pissed off? That's seriously not normal (or good) behavior.

If he was a mama's boy, you could work with that. This sounds weird and worse.

We spoke everyday all throughout the day for those 6 weeks and have probably spoken on the phone for over 30 hours altogether we would talk every other day for 2 hours at a time. He said he feels like it's unfair on him he's making it about him more than the fact I had a bad experience. He feels like he's failed. And I've told him numerous times its not about him. Now he has messaged me and said he needs to reduce contact to protect himself and to just message him when I want to meet and he feels he has given me enough time and will date others now as he was focused on me and kept me a priority

All of what you just wrote only underlines to me that this man does not have it all together and that he would end up hurting you. I suggest again that you need to end anything with this guy.

Many of his friends left the country last year so when he wanted to meet it was to just watch a movie or watch a football game. When he told his mom about this she then proceeded to arrange for him to meet with some family friends because he had obviously also told her that I won't meet with him and he doesn't have anyone to hang out with. It sounds to me like he said something not nice because he had mentioned he told his dad a month ago and his response was completely different and said 'awww no thats really said, I hope it works out and she overcomes her fear"
