My boyfriend and his ex just lost a child unfortunately. They keep in touch here and there to grieve.

I found out he took her to dinner and to grieve they child. They hang out sometimes not all the time.

she text that she was in love with him. He deflected and said to her love you always goodnight.

Love you always doesn’t sound like he’s in love right? So should I be concerned that they keep in touch here and there?

He should never say „love you always“ in response to her when he’s in a relationship with you. But you do have to give them some space to grieve (not carte Blanche though).
