Guys, What does it mean when a guy says, “ it’s not a good idea to talk in this moment in time”?

He has told me he loves me in the past and that he wanted to be in a relationship with me but that he still had feelings for his ex. But he moved to a different state for work so it’s not like it would work out. We used to meet up sometimes and we would talk a lot on the phone.

I am actually friends with his ex on social media because we all met at a workshop. So I know her.

This seems pretty straightforward. Do you have any reason to believe that he wouldn't have just meant the literal, common sense meaning of the words he said?

It means that it's just not a good time. For most men it's nothing personal and if they had a problem with you they would let you know about it and they wouldn't say that it's not a good time to talk.
