How to ask a guy to go to the movies with me?

Per the last question, my boyfriend broke up with me after we shared one last kiss. He told me he was not going anywhere, to ask out his best friend, that he supports me, and if it doesn't work he'll take me back. Now I want to ask him to go to see M3GAN with me this weekend. What should I say? I'm not able to say it verbally because of nerves, so should I write him a note? I can't text him until Friday because I lost my phone... so is note ok?

I'm sorry about your ex but also excited for you.

So, in person is ALWAYS best. But, if you can't/won't do that, then a note will do nicely. If you have other access to social media (instagram, snap, here) put your contact info in there and then he can message you separate from your phone.

And then, just ask him. Guys want girls to be direct. No games. No skulking around. :) Just ask him!

My first draft in my mind is as simple as "I'm going to go to see M3GAN this weekend. Would you like to go with me?" And make sure you add details on how to contact you or where and when to meet you.
