Getting stood up - it is right for her to get jealous I've fell back on someone else?

So I got two tickets for an event tonight, non-refundable. I invite the usual plus one - let's call her "V" - we agree one week in advance and she knows the tickets are not refundable.

Today she lets me know she won't be coming. That's a wench in the plans but alright, I try to find someone else. I ask my wife and my mother, neither is interested.

I ask another friend, call her "C", she agrees on a short notice because she had nothing else to do this evening. "V" texts me and asks me if I found someone else, and I let her know that I invited "C" and she agreed. Suddenly "V" starts giving me attitude, that if she knew I was going to invite "C" she'd have come, and that I was quick in "replacing" her and so on. I'm like "what the heck", those tickets aren't cheap and I did not want to throw a hundred down the drain. She told me to find someone else, I did and now she's getting catty about it.

You shouldn't be dating other women when you're married. Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. I guess you have some kind of open or otherwise low value relationship then?

If I'm in your shoes I would remind her of her responsibilities within the marriage relationship and not even give her the option of not helping. Just like she wouldn't give you an option in certain matters where she would claim that if you didn't do something it would end the relationship. But hey, if you want to play with fire and get yourself into situations where something unintended can happen or develop, go ahead.

Maybe she felt threatened - she usually accompanies me to events that my wife has no interest in, with her blessing. It's a social-business thing, because it doesn't look well for a gentleman to be present alone in those events.
So since I went with someone else that's not my wife, she felt slighted.

She does receive some benefits, and she will also be our next child's godmother. Junior not so much, she's older than me and my wife.

Update, we resolved.
Basically she had changed her mind right before I told her I had given the ticket (paid by me) to someone else, and that's why she got angry.

I told her that next time I'll ask her twice if she's sure about cancelling something.
