yes. But you have to define attraction... you mean physically. I wasn't so physically attracted to my wife initially, I hadn't had attraction to Chinese and I'd not seen anyone like her, maybe in books. As we got to know each other and our upbringing, family, I see the attraction was at a deeper level. We'd shared parallel lives in some ways... across the globe. Attraction is sub conscious, not just physical. She's become more beautiful, now outside and in. I see her differently. As I've learned about how our emotions work, it makes sense... she gives me inner peace, that changes my perception. Oddly, she's the only girl my "thingie" ever worked with in real life. Hard to believe, as it only worked in my imagination before. Emotions are important. I suspect as well there's a biological driver to perceptions... I have theories, I'll keep to myself:)

This dynamic may be different at different ages... when young, no doubting the "hormones" are stronger, that might change perception. Guys are very visual, that's the challenge.

A major "must have" for me is low emotional stress and she provides that. Too much stress wears me out. We're quite different in how we think... maybe opposite..., but that ends up being an asset because she complements me so well. She's strong where I am weak... that's a good formula that works for me. I seem to bring her stress down with support.

I thought I could - I tried that in 1989 - but, no, she was minimally attractive then (and is scary now).
I had to let her go. It was more than just a lack of significant physical attraction (especially when compared to the hot woman I was with recently before that), but I realized the rest of the shit I would have had to deal with was not worth it given how relatively unattractive this woman was - and the fact that she didn't want sex so much anymore. That was the last straw.

If you're not attracted to someone, you simply aren't! You can wait a while to see if something more develops, but attraction is fairly hardwired. It is something that develops while we're too young to know it's developing.

A pretty face and body don't make up for lack of personality and compatibility, except in the short run.

Honestly no because I typically only interact with men on a romantic level that I find attractive. There’s some guys I’m attracted to that have qualities I didn’t think I’d be attracted to until I met them though.

I'm going to assume you mean physical attraction when you say "attracted to"... is that correct? I can't imagine there being zero physical attraction and still experience what you're calling "romance".

I think physical attraction is important in a romantic relationship, but it always comes second to an emotional and personal connection. If there are compatibility issues, no amount of physical attraction will overcome them
