Why do the majority of guys just want hookups?

Question

It seems really difficult to get a date now. Every time I speak to a guy online or even guys I’ve actually met while at an activity never want relationship. I can’t even get a date. I do my own thing, I can cook, I get complimented appearance wise a lot, I will not jump into bed with someone. I just don’t get where I’m going wrong? My friends or people I know somehow managed to get relationships and I can’t even get a date.

It’s been like this for months, every person I talk to just says casual or talks about sex. I just don’t get it. Why?

Omg you’re speaking my exact life right here. I always blame myself for everything that goes wrong and I’m exactly like you - I don’t know where I’m going wrong either! And honestly, I don’t think we are doing anything wrong. I also love cooking and I’m a sweet girl to be around and I’m beautiful/classy. Even guys who ask me out to nice dinners and court me pull away fast. My advice is to not take things personally from online dating - so many people just have NO idea what they really want. Also a lot of them are dishonest…hence why it’s not leading to something more solidified. Once a guy lied to me about having a daughter who was closer in age to me than him! So of course we never became official. Girl, it could be anything. Too many variables are at play on the dating scene. Also most men are just thinking about sex, even if you don’t put vibes out there that are “easy” or whatever, they’ll still TRY to get you to bed. So they’ll wait forever and take you to nice places if that’s what it takes. Don’t give it til there’s a commitment.
In summary - don’t work up a sweat about it. Just hang in there and always leave after the first red flag. Trust yourself in the process when you make those calls. Best of luck ❤️

Dating in your 20s can be rough. I think often times some men don’t want to prioritize or invest in a relationship. I ran into these guys constantly and didn’t find a partner until I was 30.

I don´t know if there is an easy answer to this but I think that one of the reasons is that at least some guys are not keen on having a family since they are struggling to figure out who they are. Sex or hookup gives pleasure without having to take responsibility, a relationship on the other hand means responsibility, stress and being a team for one another.
Unlike women many guys don´t grow up with the goal to start a family but instead to enjoy and create something meaningful for themselves.

Because this is the Age of digital information, where everything can be achieved with just some texts and it's far easier to just set up an hook up and be done with it.

Once upon a time people had to put in effort to get a spouse first and a mistress/lover afterwards; but now they just skip to the hook up part because it's more efficient and time-saving.

Ummm it could be a boldness thing; you're waiting for guys to approach you, but not realizing that the kinds of guys who approach typically don't care if they have their time wasted by most women, since they don't invest much in the women.

Guys who are looking for something genuine are going to want women who demonstrate their own initiative. Players are going to be more cool with doing all the work.

The online dating scene is very unhealthy in that regard, I think online generally is more geared towards talking to multiple women at the same time, thus why hookups are often preferred by younger guys.

I that is less appealing to guys as they get older, I think most guys do want a proper relationship.

Months? How about years? Even when I have specifically mentioned I'm into relationships, not hookups, I'm not really used to normal ways of flirting, girls match me and then after a couple of texts, they ghost.

What's the maturity level/ages of the guys you're talking to? The average age of men getting married in the USA is 30.4 years. At 25 or 26, some guys are maybe just beginning to think about it, but I'd wager that most guys are not. Therefore, why do anything more than casual?

Too many women around your age are giving it away for little to no effort, so guys feel they don't need to put a lot of work in. It was never my thing, but it also wasn't this wild when I was in my early 20s.

A lot of guys have gotten accustomed to relationship-free hookups. I guess it is a natural progression. Our grandparents' generation usually had to get married to have sex. Our parents' generation often just lived together, but at least had a relationship. Now this. I think it is like I have been saying: a lot of guys will do as little as necessary to get what they want.

I think it’s a thing in our culture generally. We’re more lax with sex, which isn’t necessarily bad but I empathize cuz I’m a dude, and I’m the same way. I’m corny about romance, and def don’t like hookups. Usually don’t have sex until I know I like you emotionally as well as physically. Everyone is different. Just gotta find the compatible ones.

Because the majority of women have stopped having value outside of their sexual parts.

women used to be classy, have dignity, morals, bring things to the dating table…

but these days, most girls are cheap attention whores, dress and act like hookers in society and expose themselves online for cheap sexual attention from the masses of men.
