Is it true that “adult” relationships are better than “high school” relationships?

And by “high school” here, I mean high school AGE, so I may as well refer to that as “teen” relationships. Anyway, when I got out of high school, I complained to someone, “Adult relationships are different from high school relationships!” And that person replied, “But they’re BETTER!🙂” So is that true? And if so, then why?

What an interesting question.
I don't know. They're both different.

High schoolers are full of raging hormones. When they fall into infatuation, it's intense. They're sure that they are in love and will never love anyone else. They're nervous and don't really know what to do. They're practically trembling. And when they have sex, it's new and thrilling. The fact that it is taboo adds to the thrill. But they usually don't have enough experience to be really good at it or have the sensitivity to focus on what pleases their partner. They're just elated to be having sex.
I remember young love and it was fantastic!

Adults have more maturity and experience. They know the difference between lust and love. But lust is still amazing as an adult.

Adults know what they are looking for, whether it's casual sex or a long term commitment like marriage. And adults are better able to see through scams.

Adults are also usually much more skilled at sensuality – pleasing a partner and asking for what they, themselves, want. The sex can be sublime, transcendent, unmatched.

Women are sexually active during adolescence, but they reach their peak orgasmic frequency in their late 20s and have a constant level of sexual capacity up to the age of 55 with little evidence that aging affects it in later life. So there’s that.

And when it comes to long-term commitment, adults are in a much better positions to provide it. And again, by adulthood, they know what they want. They are done experimenting. They are also better at giving respect and demanding it in return.

From my own experience, high school relationships are spectacular, but adult relationships are better. But it depends on the people involved.

Okay, the thing is… boys didn’t like me when I was in high school / junior high. And somewhat recently, somebody told me that normally, when people get out of high school, “they ‘move on’ from ‘whether or not they were liked by the opposite sex during those years’ because that’s basically ‘kiddie’ stuff to them at that point.” But I DIDN’T “move on” from that when I got out of high school. So now I’m desperately wondering why I don’t know anyone ELSE who didn’t.
