What are the benefits of being single your entire life?

Ah yeah, this question is my chance to shine! Eternally single woman here-
Contrary to what most people assume, you can live your life happily single! Here's just a few perks to being single your whole life:
I know you are living that dream lol
Not single, but I have been for a long time in my life. For a variety of reasons. But I never really minded, there is a lot to enjoy about being single.
1. Do whatever you want. Want to eat mac and cheese every night? Do it. Wanna go to the bar? Do it. Wanna travel to a new country? Do it. The only thing that limits you is your finances really. But basically, you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and not have to make sure it's ok with someone else. The main thing I miss about being single.
2. Save money. Whenever I was truly single, and not dating. I had a ton of extra money. I don't think men realize how much of their money they spend on women, or trying to get women in some way. If you drop that for a bit, you can really save some extra cash. I imagine if I never had kids or a wife to worry about, I would have a lot more disposable income in my lifetime.
3. You can sleep/be romantic with anyone. If you are a man that has his shit together in 2023, you are vastly ahead of most of the men around you. As a result, I was quite popular with women in my early 30's. The variety can be nice, and exciting, but more trouble than it's worth in the long run. This also won't last forever.
4. Less responsibility. Only need to worry about yourself and maybe a pet, but even that is optional. You'll never get divorced, or have your kids taken. You'll never have to pay someone alimony. Won't have to worry about a sick kid, or them needing an operation, etc..
All I can think of for now.
How can there be benefits of singleness if one has to live with the conscience of continuous relational Failure ⁉️
It’s simply not possible to reconcile it in a people intelligently designed for relationship… I’ve got enough to hide and block it out in the male Alpha good reasons….
I go fishing 🎣 and see couple water skiing having fun, foreign 15,000,000 City lands couple arms around each other on the pole in subway car. Never mind the outlet malls and Saks 5th avenue etc….
The whole concept and construct is a load of 💩…. or Dating Apps would not be a multi-billion dollar industry 💰💰💰💰
LOL okay
1. You really focus on friendships which are more flexible then relationships and can change more over time.
2. Your free to flirt with whoever you want freely without being afraid of doing something bad.
3. You’ll be less distracted from your goals
4. Your less likely to get domestically abused
5. Your less likely to be with someone who wants to spend a lot more money then you.
6. Your kids, family, and friends won’t feel like they’re in competition with your bae.
7. You won’t have “all your heart” focused on one person
8. You can pursue hobbies that make you happy freely.
9. You can be as close or as distant from the people in your life as you’d like.

You will never have to pay alimony, though you might have to pay child support.
You don't have to put up w/any crap! Like I just did saxo2000 messaged me, asked a question. I responded honestly, not rudely! But this person had to send a nasty reply and then block me so I couldn't respond! How childish, rude snd spineless! That is why it is better to be single!
Because of saxo2000 some doosh on the internet? okay lol
I'm no longer single and wouldn't want to be, but just for fun:
1. You would have total control over the thermostat, and wouldn't have to adjust to living with someone who likes temperature in the house that of a meat locker or a sauna.
2. You wouldn't have to decide whose parents/family to spend time with over the holidays.
3. You can put the toilet seat up or down, as you choose, and not have to fuss with anyone over it.
All true. All true.
This might be different for different people. I can only speak for myself. I would say that the best part of being single is that I don't have to worry about getting pregnant. That would be my biggest concern if I had a boyfriend.
No, definitely not just you 😂
I swear that was my main concern with my exes when we were sexually active. Even with protection and precautions there was always that fear something would happen and I'd get pregnant, ugh.
I don't miss that stress at all. Because let's be real: even on birth control there are still cases of women getting pregnant!!!
Even scarier when methods like vasectomies fail
@Cynicaldreamer I totally get you! 😂
Yes, I've heard so many stories of women who got pregnant even with protection and precautions. It's true, there's always a chance.
I know right! I don't understand how come they fail, but it happens sometimes.
Independence, free to do whatever you want without someone else's values and feelings possibly holding you back, no need to spend and invest time in someone else all the time, save money, no attachments or bonds that can be traumatic if the relationship is shit or ends poorly.
The pro’s of being single is that you have no one to worry about.
From my past experience it’s not worth the trouble.
Being alone I can do what I want when I want, I don’t have to worry about waking up to her angry texts or her threatening behaviour anymore I get to be free and not constantly belittled.
The only downside to having no one in your life is you have no one to talk to but the loneliness soon passes as I just think of her and I’m happy again being alone.
You don’t have to use resources on someone else like money, food, shelter etc, you don’t have to worry about pregnancy or heartache, you don’t have a time limit on certain things (ie: you can shop for as long as you want or take as long as you want doing activities), you can spend your time doing whatever you want, you can chase after whatever career or study that you want, no potential arguments or fights, and you gain independence and confidence by learning to survive on your own.
Unlimited vacations with own time line, personal space, not having to share anything, no shaving, personal energy maintained, no pressure to please, no gift giving (money savings) no in law issues, no bed sharing, no need to cook, no one to discuss big financial purchases..
your next question should be disadvantaged of being single.
There's some benefits, like never getting your heart broken, but then again, you could be missing out on the best relationship/friendship of your life.
The old saying "nothing ventured, nothing gained", comes to mind...
You are happy joyful and free most importantly you don’t have to share pizza lol
You can also meet new people as much as you want anytime.. you can also disappear anytime you want lol
You can last but not least fart freely with no eww on the background
1. You can choose exactly who has a legal claim to your estate.
2. You can live, within your means, where you prefer.
3. You can invest as you see fit instead of blowing $40K+ on a kitchen makeover.
4. You don't need permission to hand out with your friends.
5. You get home at 0300 and no one yells at you.
THIS (and trust me on this due to a hard lesson continuously learned every day from The School of Hard Knocks):
https://www.youtube.com/embed/lLCEUpIg8rEIf you want to see the true benefits of being single for life look at Nikola Tesla and all he accomplished.
I cannot disagree he did great things only idolizing his mother. Is it a well rounded life? Probably not but he does leave a legacy that will never be forgotten.
I couldn't do it
Well back then it was easy. Einstein though had many women he fornicated with and still did great things. Just depends I suppose.
Einstein was once asked "How does it feel to be the smartest person in the world?" and he replied "I wouldn't know, ask Nikola Tesla". Einstein might have been even more accomplished if he did the same as Tesla.
Well, let's see: You get to spend more time with family & friends. You can make plans for what you want to do all day if there's nothing important. You can get everything that is important to you done. You never ever have to worry about babies & children. You can do things on your own time.
Not needing to give a fuck about anyone or having to compromise. Not needing to answer for every little thing you do. Being able to have as many cats and dogs as you want without someone else getting upset at you for it.
i hope i won't be single my entire life
but the benefits rn are not dealing with someone elses problems and drama
getting to be single my entire teen years (since ill be 18 this year)
No arguments except at work, come and go as you please, make all your decisions, probably cheaper to live, no kids to pay for. Am I missing anything?
Those are all good. It can be lonely though. That's the only downside.
Yeah the loneliness and no sex is the downside
I read this comment section and can't help but see that everyone that has given an answer has clearly at some point been with someone else because all the answers are ones that sound like someone in a relationship says about missing single life.
As someone who has never even been on a date ever, I can tell you these aren't "benefits", these are a routine for a life I didn't choose for myself.
I guess it becomes boring if my butt stops to lure men like a ham hungry dogs. Until that day I don't need to plan anything. I don't think planing in this question is a smart move anyways because its never ends well.
You don't have to share the couch and can just lay there while listening to music.
Well there is not the drama and emotional stress plus less financial hazard. It is just a more certain life.
On the other hand statistics would indicate you get less sex then if you were coupled.
you can do what you want when you want to do it.
have the music you like and chill out with out be told to do shit
It's easy to be single. why so many people are depressed and single crying for a relationship is beyond me.
Less family meetings! More time for yourself! No couple fights! One bed for you alone!
Less drama. Doing what you want (well kinda laws still apply).
You can mess around with as many people a you want, when you want
Unless you invent calculus like Newton did then I would say there are no real benefits. It's lonely af out here.
None. I have only been single for a few months in total since the age of 12 and hated every second of it.
u won't hv to deal with the relationship drama in the first place. won't have anyone to trouble u. no one will complain that u eat sleep and play games all day lol. and my favorite, u dont have to share ur bed. its all urs!
Not getting Cheated on or being used for money.
I was never single my entire life but staying single now is MORE MONEY 💰 🤑 💸 🎒
Ya I resent this
LOL do ya
Yeah because I have always hated and I know I will until the day I die on how men have always had the expectation of having to be the ones to actively seek a partner out
That is why we are men and we lead the world. Step up
Never liked it I never enjoyed it but unfortunately there's no other way
It is what it is.
Indeed but I know I will never like it
Then do something about it is what I say
You can live life on your own terms.
Independence, which I never had
Freedom and being able to fuck whoever I want
Freedom and no drama
I haven't been single in years
You Die alone and forgotten.
Less stress, more money, more freedom, more fun.
I would not know
You never have to deal with being dumped.
There's no use being single
