Ah yeah, this question is my chance to shine! Eternally single woman here-

Contrary to what most people assume, you can live your life happily single! Here's just a few perks to being single your whole life:

    • You can focus your time and energy on yourself! Or things that matter to you such as a career, fitness, hobbies...
    • It's easier to save money when you're single. Or splurge on yourself
    • Less drama and risk of heartache
    • You learn how to be more independent and take care of yourself, as you realize you have no one else to rely on. This is moreso true the longer you're single.
    • Less stress. It's actually been proven that most single people are happier than married couples. Just because married people appear to be happier, doesn't mean they are.

Not single, but I have been for a long time in my life. For a variety of reasons. But I never really minded, there is a lot to enjoy about being single.

    1. Do whatever you want. Want to eat mac and cheese every night? Do it. Wanna go to the bar? Do it. Wanna travel to a new country? Do it. The only thing that limits you is your finances really. But basically, you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and not have to make sure it's ok with someone else. The main thing I miss about being single.

    2. Save money. Whenever I was truly single, and not dating. I had a ton of extra money. I don't think men realize how much of their money they spend on women, or trying to get women in some way. If you drop that for a bit, you can really save some extra cash. I imagine if I never had kids or a wife to worry about, I would have a lot more disposable income in my lifetime.

    3. You can sleep/be romantic with anyone. If you are a man that has his shit together in 2023, you are vastly ahead of most of the men around you. As a result, I was quite popular with women in my early 30's. The variety can be nice, and exciting, but more trouble than it's worth in the long run. This also won't last forever.

    4. Less responsibility. Only need to worry about yourself and maybe a pet, but even that is optional. You'll never get divorced, or have your kids taken. You'll never have to pay someone alimony. Won't have to worry about a sick kid, or them needing an operation, etc..

All I can think of for now.

How can there be benefits of singleness if one has to live with the conscience of continuous relational Failure ⁉️

It’s simply not possible to reconcile it in a people intelligently designed for relationship… I’ve got enough to hide and block it out in the male Alpha good reasons….

I go fishing 🎣 and see couple water skiing having fun, foreign 15,000,000 City lands couple arms around each other on the pole in subway car. Never mind the outlet malls and Saks 5th avenue etc….

The whole concept and construct is a load of 💩…. or Dating Apps would not be a multi-billion dollar industry 💰💰💰💰

    1. You really focus on friendships which are more flexible then relationships and can change more over time.
    2. Your free to flirt with whoever you want freely without being afraid of doing something bad.
    3. You’ll be less distracted from your goals
    4. Your less likely to get domestically abused
    5. Your less likely to be with someone who wants to spend a lot more money then you.
    6. Your kids, family, and friends won’t feel like they’re in competition with your bae.
    7. You won’t have “all your heart” focused on one person
    8. You can pursue hobbies that make you happy freely.
    9. You can be as close or as distant from the people in your life as you’d like.

I'm no longer single and wouldn't want to be, but just for fun:

    1. You would have total control over the thermostat, and wouldn't have to adjust to living with someone who likes temperature in the house that of a meat locker or a sauna.

    2. You wouldn't have to decide whose parents/family to spend time with over the holidays.

    3. You can put the toilet seat up or down, as you choose, and not have to fuss with anyone over it.

This might be different for different people. I can only speak for myself. I would say that the best part of being single is that I don't have to worry about getting pregnant. That would be my biggest concern if I had a boyfriend.

No, definitely not just you 😂
I swear that was my main concern with my exes when we were sexually active. Even with protection and precautions there was always that fear something would happen and I'd get pregnant, ugh.
I don't miss that stress at all. Because let's be real: even on birth control there are still cases of women getting pregnant!!!

Even scarier when methods like vasectomies fail

Yes, I've heard so many stories of women who got pregnant even with protection and precautions. It's true, there's always a chance.

I know right! I don't understand how come they fail, but it happens sometimes.

Independence, free to do whatever you want without someone else's values and feelings possibly holding you back, no need to spend and invest time in someone else all the time, save money, no attachments or bonds that can be traumatic if the relationship is shit or ends poorly.

The pro’s of being single is that you have no one to worry about.

From my past experience it’s not worth the trouble.

Being alone I can do what I want when I want, I don’t have to worry about waking up to her angry texts or her threatening behaviour anymore I get to be free and not constantly belittled.

The only downside to having no one in your life is you have no one to talk to but the loneliness soon passes as I just think of her and I’m happy again being alone.

You don’t have to use resources on someone else like money, food, shelter etc, you don’t have to worry about pregnancy or heartache, you don’t have a time limit on certain things (ie: you can shop for as long as you want or take as long as you want doing activities), you can spend your time doing whatever you want, you can chase after whatever career or study that you want, no potential arguments or fights, and you gain independence and confidence by learning to survive on your own.

Unlimited vacations with own time line, personal space, not having to share anything, no shaving, personal energy maintained, no pressure to please, no gift giving (money savings) no in law issues, no bed sharing, no need to cook, no one to discuss big financial purchases..

your next question should be disadvantaged of being single.

There's some benefits, like never getting your heart broken, but then again, you could be missing out on the best relationship/friendship of your life.

The old saying "nothing ventured, nothing gained", comes to mind...

Einstein was once asked "How does it feel to be the smartest person in the world?" and he replied "I wouldn't know, ask Nikola Tesla". Einstein might have been even more accomplished if he did the same as Tesla.

Well, let's see: You get to spend more time with family & friends. You can make plans for what you want to do all day if there's nothing important. You can get everything that is important to you done. You never ever have to worry about babies & children. You can do things on your own time.

I read this comment section and can't help but see that everyone that has given an answer has clearly at some point been with someone else because all the answers are ones that sound like someone in a relationship says about missing single life.

As someone who has never even been on a date ever, I can tell you these aren't "benefits", these are a routine for a life I didn't choose for myself.

Well there is not the drama and emotional stress plus less financial hazard. It is just a more certain life.

On the other hand statistics would indicate you get less sex then if you were coupled.

    • You save a lot by not dating that you can invest in other things instead.
    • You have a lot of time to spend towards other interests that you're not wasting pusuing the opposite gender. Or deferring to the opposite gender when in a relationship
    • There is ABSOLUTELY NO head games. This is probably the greatest benefit. PEACE OF MIND!
