Trending & News I don't. Generally I let her choose me. I think EVERYONE (man or woman) goes by pics first and foremost (regardless of what they claim). And while I read EVERY profile of women that peak my interest. I've learned MOST women are NOT who they portray themselves to be. This isn't meant negatively. I've met women that came off very flakey on thier profile and were very normal IRL. So it's not so much what she says, but more the vibe I get from her. Does she sound like a real compassionate, empathetic person? If I feel that then I will engage her in conversation. If not then I tell her I don't think we're a match and that I wish her well.
Online dating is a waste of time, at least for me. I have several coworkers that have long term or even marriage resulting from online dating, but all the free ones are just a hive of fake profiles, bots, thinly veiled cam, porn, or explicit services, green card seekers, inactive profiles, and polyamory seekers. I spent months on those things with only that as the result. I looked at both, matched and tailored messages just to be ignored. Made me feel even worse than just not bothering to talk to women IRL.
I've never tried online dating, but I think I'd base my choice on both the picture and what they wrote. A gorgeous guy with offensive views is about equal to a reasonable sounding guy with a crazed look in his eyes lol
I don't I'm traditional I have no interest in online dating

I have never done it but I would automatically assume the photo was a fake.
Mostly they aren't. Sometimes they are out of date. That happened to me once. That's one reason not to waste time messaging before meeting. If someone won't agree to meet, that are s waste of time. If they aren't local but it would be possible for one of you to relocate, then insist on live video chat immediately.
totally what they write, you can't trust photos. but it's a combination of perception of trust.
then meet them. I did that few times long ago, in a galaxy far far away.
WHAT & HOW they say is more important than pix or words!
I've never tried any before
Making sure their profile isn't a fake.
Mostly based on what they write.
